Shearbolts are designed with use for pto and drive shafts.

The shearbolt is designed as a weak point in the PTO so that if machine hits something that could potentially damage it, the bolt will shear and disconnect the drive between your tractor and implement. It is most commonly  used on mowers, toppers, balers etc.
